What is the best time to come to the Fair?
CROWD LOVERS - Opening Night, Weekend Evenings and July 4th are the best times to be part of the crowd.
If you DISLIKE CROWDS, the best time to enjoy the Fair at your own pace is Weeknights and Weekend Days.
How much does it cost to park? How much does it cost to park a van or a busload of people?
Parking is the same for all vehicles; FREE Monday through Wednesday and $4 Thursday through Sunday and July 4.
Is there handicap parking?
Yes, in Lot G, just outside the Main Fair Entrance
Is it easy to get to the fairgrounds?
The completion of Met Life Stadium has allowed easier access to/from the Sports Complex and the Fairgrounds. The newer fairgrounds provide a simplified traffic flow from surrounding highways and around the complex. There is improved wheelchair and stroller accessibility.
How do I get to the Fair?

Do you rent strollers?
Yes, we have strollers and wagons that hold more than one child. Of course, you may bring your own. Rentals are available at the Main Entrance to the Fairgrounds. Estimated costs: Daily rentals - Stroller is $8.00; Pull Wagon is $15.00
Do you rent wheelchairs?
Yes, we do, both push and electric. Of course, you may bring your own. Most of our wiring is underground. Rentals are available at the Main Entrance to the Fairgrounds. Estimated costs: Daily Rentals - Push Wheelchair - $12.00; Motorized Scooter - $50.00
If it rains, can I get my money back?
There are no weather refunds. However, if it happens to rain continuously for more than 30 minutes before 9:00 p.m. compelling the majority of rides and entertainment to be cancelled, State Fair Meadowlands will validate your ticket stubs with a stamp to allow re-entry on any other weekday of the Fair. This policy is NOT valid on Opening Preview Night.
Is the fair indoors or outdoors?
State Fair Meadowlands is an outdoor event. However, there are many tented areas to gather and relax out of the sun or rain.
Are pets allowed at the Fair?
Per the NJSEA, only “Service Animals” are allowed to aid a handicapped patron. Even then, they must be leashed at all times.
Do you serve alcohol at the Fair?
At this time, alcohol is NOT served at the Fair; nor are you allowed to bring your own.

How do I sign up my group for Recreation Day?
Call Stephanie at 973-450-1073 or send her an email at Stephanie@stfair.com. She will be happy to answer your questions Monday – Friday 10 am to 5 pm. Please note that “Rec Day” is closed to the general public; open to children’s camps, daycare centers and the like.
Are there any bargains or discounts?
Yes, there are a few ways to save money and time. Please check our Home Page and our Bargain Nights Page for details. Please keep in mind, that admission includes over 6 different free shows daily including live concerts. And, PARKING is FREE Monday through Wednesday and ONLY $4 other days including July 4.
What are Advance Sale Tickets and why should we buy them?
Advance Sale Tickets allow you to save time and money by purchasing admission, rides or combo tickets before the Fair opens. It saves you time because you will not have to wait in line at the Gate Box Office or at the Ride Ticket Box Office. It saves money especially for those people who want to come on the weekend or July 4. Please Click Here for information.
How do I buy advance sale tickets?
Advance Sale Tickets may be purchased BEFORE THE FAIR OPENS by Mail, Online, Telephone (973-450-1073) or in person at the Fair Office - 241 Main Street in Belleville between 10am and 5pm. We accept Amex, Discover, MasterCard or Visa.
Is there an admission cost?
Yes there is gate admission, which includes over 6 different free shows daily including live concerts. Please go to the Home Page for more information.
What kind of entertainment is Free?
State Fair Meadowlands offers top quality and world famous entertainment as part of your admission to the Fair. There are live shows throughout each day, every day and includes Circus Maximus, Live Concerts, Pig Racing, Big Cats, Petting Zoo and Master Hypnotist Shows .
Do you have concerts?
Yes. State Fair Meadowlands features some of the best local and regional musical talent appearing on both the Main Stage and American Stage.
Does the gate admission include rides?
No. Gate admission includes admission and free entertainment; however it does not include rides. Ride tickets are sold as individual tickets inside the fairgrounds or as part of a gate admission/unlimited ride combo ticket at the Gate Box Office.
Do you have Wristbands?
No, we use an Unlimited Ride Hand Stamp, which may be purchased at the front gate as part of an Admission/Ride Combo ticket or inside the fairgrounds by itself.
Do you have regular ride tickets available or only the Hand Stamp?
Yes, ride tickets may be purchased at ticket boxes on the main midway and on the carnival midway. For pricing, please go the Rides and Attractions section.
We bought a Mega Pass through Advance Sale Tickets, where do we get our hand stamped?
At the Information Booth located just inside the Main Entrance.
What kinds of rides are at the Fair?
State Fair Meadowlands features a great variety of thrilling rides for adults and teens as well as the biggest Kiddy-Land with over 25 rides for children including live animal rides.
What kind of food is at the Fair?
There are over 50 food vendors from around the country that offer an astonishing array of gastronomic treats. In addition to traditional Fair Food such as Corn Dogs, Curly Fries, Funnel Cakes and Cotton Candy, you will find Sausage & Peppers, Cheese Steaks, Pizza & Pasta, Greek, Asian and Hispanic treats along with Salads and Ice Cream. You will also be delighted to find Seafood, Alligator Bites, the popular Donut Burger, Fried Oreos and Fried PB&J, fresh-squeezed lemonade, root beer floats and more – can you say yummy!
