Sea Lion Splash’ Marco Peters rescues sea lions that are hurt, blind or deaf, when they can’t survive in the wild. He has rescued sea lions that have been victims of climate change; when they lose their food sources – squid and herring - due to warming water (El Nino), they can starve.

Originally from Holland, Marco Peters spent the early days of his career working for the Ringling Brothers training lions and tigers. Then his desires shifted and he decided to work with water-based animals. One day he heard about two sea lions who were retiring from the circus and his idea to start Sea Lion Splash was born. One sea lion we all must watch for is ‘Zoe.’ She was born prematurely in California and her mother died due to lack of food. She’s not strong enough to fight off diseases in the wild, and now lives and performs with Sea Lion Splash. Marco will be bringing two South American sea lions and two Californian sea lions.

We can’t wait to meet them!!
